Muhammad (Pbuh) (Percussion Version)
Composed By – Sami Yusuf
Lyrics By – Sami Yusuf, Bara Kherigi*

Lyrics:
Every day I see the same headlines
Crimes committed in the name of the divine
People committing atrocities in his name
They murder and kidnap with no shame
But did he teach hatred, violence, or bloodshed? No… Oh No
He taught us about human brotherhood
And against prejudice he firmly stood
He loved children, their hands he’d hold
And taught his followers to respect the old
So would he allow the murder of an innocent child? Oh No…
Muhammad ya rasulallah
Muhammad ya habiballah
Muhammad ya khalilallah
Muhammad
Muhammad ya rasulallah
Muhammad ya shafi’allah
Muhammad ya bashirallah
Ya rasulallah
Muhammad the light of my eyes
About you they spread many lies
If only they came to realise
Bloodshed you despise

Māhūr Instrumental (Live at the Dubai Opera)
DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the evocative sound of flamenco ‘The Praised One’ is Sami Yusuf’s ethereal rendition
of Qasidah Muhammadiyyah, a love poem for the Prophet by the 13th century Sufi poet Imam Busiri,
author of one of the world’s most famous poems ‘The Burda’.
It has been said from his day to ours that the writings of Imam Busiri have a healing power,
and their recitation is widespread across many regions.
From its intensely emotional intro to the sustained energy of the outro, the composer fuses
traditional instruments of the Silk Road with contemporary sounds. Sami Yusuf plays tar, rabab and frame drums
for this fully acoustic performance that moves from meditative vocals to
the complexity of flamenco rhythms with classical guitar performed by Jon Lawton.
The music is both intimate and exhilarating, reflecting the multi-faceted and luminous spirit
of the Prophet expressed in this beautiful poem.

DESCRIPTION:
Sami Yusuf’s composition ‘The Fire Within’ evokes the flame of love
that burns in the hearts of seekers everywhere.
This rich musical tapestry weaves together mystical strands of music and poetry
as it moves seamlessly from the aeolian sound of European choral music
to Andalusian modes to Middle Eastern scales.
Here we hear the voice of each tradition clearly articulated
as in an intricate conversation with one another.
Layer upon layer of melodies and rhythms serve to clarify the composer’s vision
and to lead the listener inward to a place of knowing beyond words.
Lyrics are drawn from mystical poets: Kaygusuz Abdal (Turkish lyrics),
Hildegard von Bingen (Latin lyrics),
Mansur ibn al-Hallaj and Abu al-Hasan al-Shushtari (Arabic lyrics).
Performed by Cappella Amsterdam, The Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra,

Khorasan:
Khorasan is inspired by the stories ‘In Baghdad Dreaming of Cairo: In Cairo,
Dreaming of Baghdad’ by Rumi, and ‘The Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho. Sometimes
the treasures we are looking for have been with us all along, but it can take a long journey
to discover this. Khorasan is a historical region of Persia that provides
the destination of this spiritual journey, where we discover the answers
to the secrets of this world were inside us all along.

lyrics:
Khorasan
I have come
Here alone
In my dream
Earth and stone
Turned to gold
Was that you
Long ago
Khorasan?
Can you guide me to the treasures I have lost?
Can you show me every secret I forgot?
When I came you asked me where I had come from
You said my homeland was my kingdom all along
Khorasan
I must go
Send me home
Breathe in me
I have healed
I have grown
Give me peace
In my soul
Khorasan
Can you guide me to the treasures I have lost?
Can you show me every secret I forgot?
When I came you asked me where I had come from
You said my homeland was my kingdom and my secret all along
Khorasan,
Send me home
Khorasan.

Lyrics:
I was a foolish little child
Crazy things I used to do
And all the pain I put you through
Mama now I’m here for you
For all the times I made you cry
The days I told you lies
Now it’s time for you to rise
For all the things you sacrificed
Oh, if I could turn back time rewind
If I could make it undone
I swear that I would
I would make it up to you
Mum I’m all grown up now
It’s a brand new day
I’d like to put a smile on your face every day
Mum I’m all grown up now
And it’s not too late
I’d like to put a smile on your face every day
And now I finally understand
Your famous line
About the day I’d face in time
‘Cause now I’ve got a child of mine
And even though I was so bad
I’ve learned so much from you
Now I’m trying to do it too
Love my kid the way you do
Oh, if I could turn back time rewind
If I could make it undone
I swear that I would
I would make it up to you
Oh, if I could turn back time rewind
If I could make it undone
I swear that I would
I would make it up to you
Mum I’m all grown up now
It’s a brand new day
I’d like to put a smile on your face every day
Mum I’m all grown up now
And it’s not too late
I’d like to put a smile on your face every day
You know you are the number one for me
You know you are the number one for me
You know you are the number one for me
Oh, oh, number one for me
You know you are the number one for me
You know you are the number one for me
You know you are the number one for me
Oh, oh, number one for me
There’s no one in this world that can take your place
Oh, I’m sorry for ever taking you for granted, ooh
I will use every chance I get
To make you smile, whenever I’m around you
Now I will try to love you like you love me
Only God knows how much you mean to me
Oh, if I could turn back time rewind
If I could make it undone
I swear that I would
I would make it up to you

Gathered here with my family
…My neighbours and my friends
Standing firm together against oppression holding hands
It doesn’t matter where you’re from
Or if you’re young, old, women or man
We’re here for the same reason; we want to take back our land
Oh God thank you..
For giving us the strength to hold on
And now we’re here together
Calling you for freedom, freedom
We know you can hear our call, ooh oh
We’re calling for freedom, fighting for freedom
We know you won’t let us fall, ooh no
We know you’re here with us
No more being prisoners in our homes
No more being afraid to talk
Our dream is just to be free, just to be free
Now when we’ve taking our first step
Towards a life of complete freedom
We can see our dream getting closer and closer, we’re almost there
Oh God thank you..
For giving us the strength to hold on
And now we’re here together
Calling you for freedom, freedom
We know you can hear our call, ooh oh
We’re calling for freedom, fighting for freedom
We know you won’t let us fall, ooh no
I can feel the pride in the air
And it makes me strong to see everyone
Standing together holding hands in unity
Shouting out loud demanding their right for freedom
…This is it and we’re not backing of
Oh God we know you hear our call
And we’re calling you for freedom, freedom
We know you can hear our call, ooh oh

“Mercy” Lyrics:-
I’ve got that feeling in my gut
Because Lord I know that I messed up
And no one, yes no one would hear my call
These last few years a living hell
I feel so lost though I can’t tell
If no one, yes no one would feel my fall
And so my only hope is:
Chorus
Mercy ya Rahman
Mercy ya Raheem
Rabbee have mercy on me!
Tired of this never ending fight
Can’t seem to do anything right
And I wonder how much my heart can bend
Dark thoughts are sinking in my head
I’m wide awake but I feel dead
And I wonder, yes I wonder when will it’ll end
And so my only hope is:
Mercy ya Rahman
Mercy ya Raheem
Rabbee have mercy on me!
I’m feeling nothing left to give this world, so cold and hardened
Lord, I know you’re closer than the my veins and with the broken hearted
Mercy ya Rahman
Mercy ya Raheem
Rabbee have mercy on me!
Yeah!
Mercy ya Rahman!

Trees of Freedom – Muad
The full moon rose over us
From the valley of Wadaa’
And we owe it to show gratefulness
Whenever a caller call to Allah
O you who were raised amongst us
Coming with the word to be obeyed
You have brought to this city nobility
Welcome, O best of callers!
Everyone in Quba (in Medina) welcomed you
And the sound of singing came from every corner
And their longing was quenched by the delight of seeing you
Your coming, my master, is more precious than gold
For the old you were a brother, for the young you were a father
It is our Lord who blessed you, glory be to the Giver
The Prophet, the Prophet, he who is of pure lineage
He was described in the books in the most beautiful words
The God-fearing, the pure-hearted, Ahmed the Arabian
In Taiba (Medina) lingers on the fragarance of the Beloved
Light, splendour and a feeling of awe
Taha’s (Muhammad’s) radiant glow resides in it, his sun never sets

Allahumma salli ‘ala,
Sayyidina,
Muhammadin an-Nabiyyi al-ummiyyi,
Wa ‘ala alihi wa sahbihi wa sallim.
(O Allah, send your peace and blessings upon our Master Muhammad, the Unlettered Prophet, and upon his family and companions.)
O My Lord,
My sins are like
The highest mountain;
My good deeds
Are very few
They’re like a small pebble.
I turn to You
My heart full of shame,
My eyes full of tears.
Bestow Your
Forgiveness and Mercy
Upon me.
Ya Allah,
Send your peace and blessings
On the Final Prophet,
And his family,
And companions,
And those who follow him.

Lyrics:
My ummah, my ummah
He will say
Rasulullah on that day
Even though we’ve strayed from him and his way
My brothers, my sisters, in Islam
Let’s struggle, work, and pray
If we are to
Bring back the glory of his way
Ya Allah ya rabbal alamin
Ya rahmanu ya rahim
Ya rabbi
O Allah Lord of the Worlds
O Merciful and Beneficent
O my Lord
Let the Ummah rise again
Let us see daylight again
Once again
Let’s become whole again
Proud again
‘Cause I swear with firm belief in our hearts
We can bring back the glory of our past
My ummah, my ummah
He will say
Rasulullah on that day
Even though we strayed from him and his way
Look at where we were
And look at where we are
And tell me
Is this how he’d want it to be?
Oh no! Let us bring back our glory
ya allah ya rabbal alalmin
ya rahmano ya rahem
ya rabbi
let the ummah rise again
ya allah ya rabbal alalmin
ya rahmano ya rahem
ya rabbi
let the ummah rise again
let us see daylight again
once again

Lyrics:
Ya Rabbi Ya Ghafur
Ya ‘Alimu Ya Shakur
Oh my Sustainer, Oh Off-Forgiving One!
Oh All-Knowing One, Oh Most Grateful One!
Allif baina qulubina
Aslih dhata bainina
Bring our hearts close together
Mend our relationships
What makes you sigh?
My father said to me
Saw you walking by
And keeping it from me
I do care, I do care
Come sit with me
Tell me what’s on your mind
I know how it can be
I also was a child
Don’t despair, don’t despair
Allif baina qulubina
Aslih dhata bainina
Bring our hearts close together
Mend our relationships
How can I tell you about
All that I feel
You would only start to shout
Make a big deal
And I’m beginning to doubt
If my wounds will heal
You’re right, I’m wrong, always the same
No one, really, knows of my pain
Ya Rabbi Ya Ghafur
Ya ‘Alimu Ya Shakur
Oh my Sustainer, Oh Off-Forgiving One!
Oh All-Knowing One, Oh Most Grateful One!
Allif baina qulubina
Aslih dhata bainina
Bring our hearts close together
Mend our relationships
I never knew
You felt this way
Sometimes I’s true
You had no say
My hopes for you
Made me walk by
I left no room
To let you try
I’d not realized
How much you’d grown
To make mistakes
I’m also prone
Ya Rabbi Ya Ghafur
Ya ‘Alimu Ya Shakur
Oh my Sustainer, Oh Off-Forgiving One!
Oh All-Knowing One, Oh Most Grateful One!
Allif baina qulubina
Aslih dhata bainina
Bring our hearts close together
Mend our relationships
I thought I was the only one
Who felt this pain
Who felt so wronged
I thought you didn’t really care
But now I know I was unfair
Without you I would never be
The person I have come to be
Allif baina qulubina
Aslih dhata bainina
Bring our hearts close together
Mend our relationships

Lyrics:
O People!
In a hut made of tin and clay
A small boy dreams away
Of clean water and a meal a day
And not to fear mines as he plays each day
O People!
Somewhere dark and out of the way
AIDS has found yet another prey
To save his life he just couldn’t pay
Tell me what we’re going to do
For our brothers in Durban,
For our sisters in Darfur,
Show me what we’re going to do
Are we just going to sit there,
Nice and cowzy on our armchairs?
Will we not even make a prayer (2x)?
You might ask yourself:
“Why should I help these people?”
They’ll tell you why:
“We’re not so different from you.
We have dreams just like you,
But they were buried with the
Bodies of our loved ones.”
O People!
Are we dead, dumb, and blind?
What is going through our minds?
Don’t we care for the rest of mankind?
O People!
We claim to love peace and justice
Why do we preach but we don’t practice?
Let’s help them out of this darkness
Tell me what we’re going to do
For our brothers in Ethiopia,
For our sisters in Rwanda,
Show me what we’re going to do,
Are we just going to sit there
Nice and cozy on our armchairs?
Will we not even make a prayer (4x)?

YOU CAN CHANGE THIS WORLD TO A BETTER WORLD
WITH YOUR SOULS, WITH YOUR SOULS
DO NOT HARM ME, I AM YOUR TRUTH
DO NOT KILL ME, FOR I’M YOUR YOUTH
I AM YOUR HOPE, I AM YOUR TRUTH
I’M YOUR FAITH, I’M YOUR YOUTH
BILQAWLI WALAMAL, ANTUMUL-AMAL
WITH WORDS AND ACTION, YOU ARE THE HOPE
SALIMHUM YA RABB, SALIMHUM YA RABB
GRANT THEM PEACE OH LORD, GRANT THEM PEACE OH LORD
BIL-ILMI WAL-QALAM, YUDFA’U-L’ALAM
THROUGH KNOWLEDGE AND THE MIGHT OF THE PEN, PAIN WILL BE PUSHED ASIDE
LA TANSANI ANA DHAMEERUK
DON’T FORGET ME FOR I’M YOUR CONSCIENCE
LA TU’DHINI ANA SHABABUK
DON’T HARM ME I’M YOUR YOUTH
SALIMHUM YA RABB, SALIMHUM YA RABB
GRANT THEM PEACE OH LORD, GRANT THEM PEACE OH LORD

DO NOT KILL ME, FOR I’M YOUR YOUTH
I AM YOUR HOPE, I AM YOUR TRUTH
