Muhammad Part 2 (Bonus Track) – Sami Yusuf
Let us not forget
Who we are, whence we came, where we shall go.
Let us not forget
We have now fallen and forgotten who we are.
Wandering on earth with no compass in hand.
But we can remember, we can remember.
Let us not forget that although cast in this lowly world
Let us not forget
Although blinded by veils of neglect and heedlessness.
We are placed here on earth to remember
To remember who we really are as we make this journey of earthly life.
To remember who we really are as we make this journey of earthly life.
Let us not forget
Who we are, whence we came, where we shall go.
Let us not forget
We have now fallen and forgotten who we are.
Wandering on earth with no compass in hand.
To remember who we really are as we make this journey of earthly life.
To remember who we really are as we make this journey of earthly life.
To remember who we really are as we make this journey of earthly life.
To remember who we really are as we make this journey of earthly life.
Let us not forget
Who we are, whence we came, where we shall go.
Let us not forget

Mustafa, Mustafa, Mustafa.
Ya Mustafa ya Mustafa ya Mustafa
Allahumma salli ‘alal Mustafa
(O Allah send your blessings on the Chosen One)
Mustafa Mustafa Mustafa
[Solo]
You’re our prophet,
Our beloved,
Truly you are,
Most just and kind [x3]
[Chorus]
Allahumma salli ‘alal Mustafa
Mustafa Mustafa Mustafa
Ya Mustafa ya Mustafa ya Mustafa
You’re the Guide
Sent by Allah
To lead us
Towards the light [x3]
[Chorus]
In your manners
And in your deeds
All the Prophets
You did exceed [x3]
[Chorus]
Mustafa, Mustafa, Mustafa.
Ya Mustafa ya Mustafa ya Mustafa
Allahumma salli ‘alal Mustafa
(O Allah send your blessings on the Chosen One)

About the Performance
Sami Yusuf’s instrumental composition ‘The Meeting’ is an intimate
and deeply personal work. Direct and non-linear, the melodies,
rhythms and vocalisations sustain and support
one another flawlessly as the music moves fluidly between the Western
aeolian mode and the Persian dastgah shur. Solos by Sami Yusuf on tar,
Guo Gan on erhu, and Asad Khan on sitar circle each other
to create an embracing ambience where each melodic line is a subtle gem,
strong and fragile in equal measure.

The Golden Ages ( Instrumental Version ) 1001 Inventions and the World of Ibn Al-Haytham
DESCRIPTION:
Sami Yusuf’s composition ‘Veritas’ premiered at the Holland Festival in Amsterdam
as part of his concert series ‘When Paths Meet’.
From the minimal and ethereal sound of the intro,
it subtly transitions to a sense of awe at the astonishing majesty and multiplicity of creation.
The Persian-influenced musical phrasing of Sami Yusuf’s vocalisations
in the intro are inspired by the Daramad of Avaz-e dashti,
a subgroup of the Shur dastgah, a Persian modal system evocative of a meditative state.
Cappella Amsterdam sings quarter tones here and they do so brilliantly.
The flamenco and Andalusian sounds of the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra interplay
with Western classical elements and the vibrant Arabic maqam Bayati.
When the mode shifts to the passionate yearning of maqam Nahawand,
its similarity to the Western classical minor scale brings an effortless resonance between the two.
The outro joins Bayati and a harmonic minor scale in a multi-faceted,
fiery expression of multiple, even contradictory states of being,
while the vocalists insist,
‘Veritas’, ‘Veritas’ – Truth, Truth – and cast our focus beneath the turbulent surface storms
to the calm depths below.

كن متقناً تجد الحياة جميلةً بعطائها

لا مستحيل لباذلٍ بالجهد اتقن ما يريد
لا مستحيل لمن سعى يعطي إذا طُلبَ المزيد
